COVID-19 Policy

I am fully vaccinated! A copy of my CDC vaccination card is available for conformation at the studio. —Glenda

Families that do not comply to the following policies will be dismissed from the studio immediately.

Masks

  • Masks that cover the nose and mouth are required for everyone ages 2+, regardless of vaccination status.
    • Masks must be cloth, disposable 3-ply surgical or n95 respirators.
      • Neck gaiters, bandanas and face shields (without aforementioned mask) are not acceptable.
    • If wearing a cloth mask, wash it after each use. To avoid self-contamination do not wear the same cloth mask two days in a row and wash your hands after removing it.
  • Masks must be on BEFORE entering the studio.
  • Masks will be required until children are fully vaccinated.

Vaccination

Proof of vaccination is required for everyone ages 12+ to enroll. This includes students, parents and siblings who will be present during lessons, group classes and events. If someone other than the parent will bring children to lessons they will also need to provide proof of vaccination. When the vaccination becomes available for children under age 12, proof will be required to enroll for the first time or to continue with in-person lessons. A deadline to provide proof will be set after vaccination is widely available for children under the age of 12.

Current families will need to provide proof of vaccination for everyone ages 12+ by November 15th, 2021 to continue with in-person lessons as of December 2021. If a family is unable to provide proof by this deadline, lessons will move back to ZOOM at your current lesson time. Alternatively, I can refer you to other teachers in the area who might offer in-person lessons. However, I am unaware of their covid policies.

Please bring your CDC Covid vaccination card in as proof of vaccination. Photos of your vaccination cards will also be accepted.

Families who choose to not to get vaccinated are welcome to enroll or continue lessons with the understanding that lessons will be held online via zoom without possibility of participating in any in-person classes.

Hand washing / Hand sanitizer

  • Everyone (including parents/siblings) are required to use hand sanitizer or to wash hands upon entering the studio.
  • Hand sanitizer: use a full pump and rub hands together until they are dry. The alcohol in hand sanitizer will strip the varnish from your violin and bow.
  • Handwashing: Use hot water and soap. Scrub hands while you sing “ Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” twice.

Illness & Travel

  • Students/family members may not come to in-person lessons if:

    • you or anyone in your household are symptomatic (cough, sneeze, shortness of breath, extreme fatigue, sore throat. Headache etc)
    • your child has GI discomfort (stomach issues, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea).
    • you have a cold.
    • you may have been exposed to COVID
    • you are placed on quarantine by your school or work place.
    • any members of your immediate family/household are unvaccinated and have traveled to a COVID “hot spot.” You will need to quarantine for 10 days upon your return home, before returning to in-person lessons. Lessons will be held via zoom during the quarantine period.
    • Notify me if you qualify as any of the above and we will have a ZOOM lesson during the course of the illness and quarantine periods.
