Our Full Program is suitable for children who have graduated our Pre-Twinkle and Twinkle program. Transfer students in Book 1-10 are welcome to enroll in the Full Program after a placement interview. Students enrolling in the Full Program have 2+ years of Suzuki method lessons.
Children ages 11+ who are absolute beginners are welcome to join the Full Program. However, the violin book 1 group class is made up Twinkle graduates and transfer students. These students have 2-3 years of playing experience. Beginners may not feel comfortable in this situation. When possible an older beginners group class for book 1 can form with enough students; it’s rare that we have enough students to form another group as the majority of Suzuki students begin before age 10. Older beginners may opt to skip group classes until they have enough material to participate more in the class and/or observe the classes. If this situation doesn’t sound ideal for your family, we recommend contacting a violin teacher offering traditional method lessons.
The Full Program consists of public performance opportunities, 20 group classes, 44 individual lessons and 4 Play-ins each studio year. Individual lesson lengths vary from 15 minutes to 60 minutes.
Students will need to practice 5-6 days per week. Length of daily practice should be equal to that of your lesson. Advanced students participating in youth orchestra, competitions and/or college auditions will need to allot 6 days of practice per week for 3-5 hours each day.
