Rules

WSS Studio Rules are necessary for safety and to create the ideal learning environment. Studio members (parents included) that disregard the following rules may be dismissed from the studio.

  • Children MUST wash their hands or use hand sanitizer before all classes. This is not optional.
  • Weapons are not permitted in the studio.
  • No running.
  • Arrive 5-10 minutes before class begins.
  • Food/drink is welcome but throw away your trash in the appropriate containers. Clean up after yourself. If necessary, paper towels can be found in the bathrooms. A broom, mop and other cleaning supplies can be found in the studio closet.
  • Instrument cases should be left in the waiting area and out of walking areas.
  • Students may remove their shoes in the studio, if this is more comfortable. No socks! Shoes on, or barefoot. Students are welcome to keep non-slip slippers at the studio for lessons if this is your preference, just make sure they are labeled.
  • We use inside voices. Shouting is not permitted by anyone, including parents. It is unnecessary and disrupts other lessons taking place in the building.
  • Siblings and visitors should not become distracting to lessons in session.
  • Respect is expected. Please treat all members of the studio with respect. Lesser behavior will not be tolerated.
  • Respect is expected for materials and the physical studio. Slamming doors, vandalism, etc., will not be tolerated.
  • Take all phone calls to the waiting area.
  • Electronic devices should be used for note taking purposes, feel free to make videos of  lessons and take pictures. You can also record lessons. However, please Be present. Silence your devices.
  • Don’t touch the piano without permission.
  • Don’t touch another students instrument without permission. Let’s be mindful of personal space to avoid accidents.
  • Don’t touch my instrument. I have a professional level instrument. It costs as much as a car. Repairs are quite expensive, parents are responsible for repairs if a student should damage it.
  • Parents are required to attend individual lessons until children enter middle school. Parent attendance is not required for group class starting with book 2.
