Is my child ready for lessons?
Children are assessed for lesson readiness at the trial lesson ($30).

Our Program (Click the arrow for more details)
All students will attend Wednesday group lessons in this program. I do not offer private lessons without also being enrolled in group. Both formats are required for a well-rounded music education snd character development. Exceptions made for adults and for very advanced students who are currently enrolled in a youth orchestra program—outside of school programs.
Beginner Group Classes:
All children ages 4-9 begin their Suzuki Violin Journey in a group class. Group classes meet on Wednesday. As children progress, they will advance to a different class level and time (still on Wednesday). In time, an invitation to add individual (private lessons) maybe extended to your family. Some families will begin by enrolling is BOTH group and individual lessons. Before enrollment, families will schedule a trial lesson to asses for lesson readiness, to go over studio policy and I’ll answer your questions.
Individual (Private lessons):
We use the term “individual” rather than private to refer to ‘one-on-one’ lessons. The last five minutes of your lesson is open to the next family on the schedule to observe. In Suzuki, we cultivate a community environment and children learn from observing their peers. Occasionally, a prospective family may observe your lesson, or Sensei might have a student teacher in training observe. Regardless of observation, your families individual needs will be met during this type of lesson.
Individual lessons are added to your program after some time in group classes and by invitation from Sensei. The exception is students who transfer from another studio with individual lesson experience and adult students or parents who want to study concurrently with their children but who would like a separate lesson.
Transfer Students (coming from another studio or school program):
Transfer students are enrolled in BOTH individual lessons and group classes. See exceptions to group class enrollment above. Students are assessed for playing level at the trial lesson to determine group class placement. See the trial lesson booking calendar below for available time slots.
